Contact: Mr. Phill Miles - phillmiles@fsmail.net Site size; 60 plots made up of a mixture of 5 &10 pole plots. The site has been used as allotment land for over 80 years. The soil is loam & whilst some plots are said to be stony this does help with the drainage and is not otherwise a problem. The site is surrounded by flats/housing, which helps with security. In addition to this, the site is not easily identifiable from the main road and to date we have suffered relatively little theft or vandalism. Facilities; The brick built trading hut is open most days during the growing season; members can purchase bags of compost, canes and fertilisers etc. We also have a wide range of machines, such as lawn mowers, strimmers and cultivators, available for members to hire at very reasonable rates. This is one of the few sites that have flush toilets and members are issued with their own keys. We also have a wooden pavilion (20 X 40feet) with fully fitted kitchen. The pavilion is used for social events and in addition tea and biscuits are usually served once or twice a day. There are two car parks on site. The members on this site come from wide and varied backgrounds. This provides a rich mixture of experience and skills that help run and enhance our site.
